ABSTRACT
Unprecedent findings achieved by the research
team represent an impressive breakthrough in structurally complex molecule
determinations specifically by single-crystal X-ray
diffraction analysis. Advances in determining the structures of alkyl-chain
molecules directly promotes the precise design and synthesis of new drugs. The
"supramolecular docking" strategy proposed by professor Huang and
coworkers is expected to pave the way for
pharmaceuticals, natural product chemistry and materials science. A
possible direction of future research may be steered into various
supramolecular docking systems and MOFs with larger cavities and adaptive
recognition sites. As the continued evolution of MOF chemistry, current
strategy will enable the determination of unknown structures that have been previously
considered "undeterminable", and drive scientific innovations in
molecular science.
