ABSTRACT
More broadly, this work signals a conceptual shift
in MOF-glass research. Rather than treating composition as an intrinsic
consequence of framework synthesis, it becomes possible to view MOF glasses as
chemically adjustable materials whose properties can be engineered through
post-synthetic modifier chemistry. In doing so, Kolodzeiski, Henke and
co-workers have imported one of the most powerful ideas in traditional glass
science into the realm of hybrid framework materials, opening the door to a
genuine chemistry of MOF-glass formulation.
